Heidenhain offers a complete line of digital readouts and measurement software for metrology. These can be retrofitted onto optical comparators, microscopes, and coordinate measuring machines.
Metronics has merged operations with long-time parent company Heidenhain. New "ND" product numbers are replacing the old "QC" nomenclature.

The ND 1200 (same as QC 200) is the ideal metrology package to start with because it's so simple to operate. Retrofitted to virtually any optical comparator or 2-axis measuring machine, you can begin measuring radii, angles, polar, or point to point functions immediately. Automatic skew alignment and a graphical display speed up and simplify your measurements.

|
IK 5000 (same as QC 5000) Series Metrology Software is a Microsoft Windows-based application that supports 3- and 4-axis measurement of 3D parts and are designed for use with single- and multi-probe coordinate measuring machines and video inspection systems with touch probe and/or non-contact sensor configurations.

The new Gage-Chek is a multichannel metrology display that accepts up to eight discrete inputs. It features intuitive visual displays, helpful audio cues and user-defined formulas. It also reports dynamic Min/Max measurements, provides SPC analysis from an integrated database and includes connectivity to PCs and other peripherals.

Sealed linear encoders are protected from dust, chips and splash fluids and are ideal for operation on machine tools. Exposed linear encoders operate with no mechanical contact between the scanning head and the scale or scale tape. With incremental linear encoders, the current position is determined by starting at a datum and counting measuring steps, or by subdividing and counting signal periods.
